Feminist Art History in 1944? Re-introducing Helen Rosenau’s brilliant war-time study: Woman in Art: From Type to Personality

In a beautiful new edition, in full colour, framed by biographical essays on the author and critical readings of a brilliant, but little known contestant of Gombrich’s 1951 all-male ‘his-story’ of art, Griselda Pollock reveals a much longer history of transdisciplinary feminist cultural analysis through her analysis of Helen Rosenau’s ‘little book’ of 1944.

In dialogue with the Women’s Art Collection curator Harriet Loffler and CVC Chair Dr Amy Tobin, join Professor Pollock for an evening conversation about her latest work. This event will be followed by a wine reception.
