Jennifer Scott, Director of Dulwich Picture Gallery, discusses the challenges and opportunities of staging the exhibition ‘Rubens & Women’. Does Rubens’s work have relevance today? Is it possible to present a more nuanced view of the women, both real and imagined, in the artist’s world? Are we all just a little bit afraid of him?
The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception hosted by His Excellency Bruno van der Pluijm, Belgian Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
